A time to learn

by Peter Namisi

A pandemic is the most dreaded thing in our lives as humans. In addition its also one of the best test on our preparedness to be able to change,  be consistent and also to show the level of care we can have towards others.

The covid-19 period came into my life and has been a lesson that I would live to narrate to whoever will be interested to hear about it. Immediately after the government suspend school in March,  as a student it never crossed my mind that it will take a whooping seven month before we are called in to finish our semester.

For most people it would be a time they would call ‘wasted time.’ I don’t know why they refer to it as such. Rather for me it was a period to reflect on my life and some skills that I had and had not been put to use as required. As a student of media and as a film maker I took it as a chance to  learn a lot from other film makers and media gurus on what they do different in order to better their output.

Netflix was also my number one movie site since it has the standard film project that you can critique and learn from in order to equip myself with some knowledge from content to production and even post post production.

Later on,  it was also a nice opportunity to take up the challenge of going for the daily hustles with a friend when the country started to open up. Something that I have never done before. It was interesting,  tiring and above all fulfilling because now you start adding value to your life. The epitome of my holiday during the pandemic was doing practices to be fit as a person.

It would alarm everyone who was on quarantine the their body weight would increase due to the staying home without being actively engaged in something that would help them cut it down. So exercises came in handy to help maintain my body and also for health benefits.
