The annual exhibition week that took place in Multimedia University of Kenya, was characterised by the theme, linking the academia and industry towards the realization of 4 th industrial revolutions for the big four agenda , is expected to spur conversation on how the academia and industry can effectively work together in coming up with workable homebased solutions to problems facing our country.
The exhibition week was to encourage young and energetic Kenyans to venture into innovations to curb some of the challenges to face us and we can have a better solutions to them.For example one of the the four agendas is food security; Most of our land is arable forming and if utilized property we can produce enough food to feed ourselves and export others if only solve the problem of water for irrigation. This only needs mechanisms that can be employed to store water during rain season or dig boreholes to have water for irrigation.Now this where minds are supports to role to come up with innovation skill.
Other four big agenda are; Universal Health ,manufacturing and affordable housing . It was a NYC decision for the exhibition to be conducted in the University as students are very important key stake holders in solving the problems that face Kenyans at large.MMU Registrar, Research and innovation Mr Anderson Maina said the exhibition provides a platform for students ,staff ,industry expert’s and innovators to engage and share ideas on how the innovative projects can be improved,patented and commercialized.He said exhibition will go a low way in supporting the governments big four agenda adding that the exercise has been aligned to the natural economic goals and the University research and innovative agenda.
